“谜”所指的就是谜团，在充满恶意（小至恶作剧，大至恨意）的谜团（谋杀事件）解开之时，会释放出大量的能量。主角——魔界的变种生物脑啮涅罗，就是专门吃“谜”为生的魔界异种生物，在吃完了魔界的“谜”之后，来到人间寻找最极致的“谜”。在他刚到人间时正巧遇到因为父亲遭到杀害，而失魂落魄的女主角弥子，于是便露出真面目强迫弥子当她的代理人，并借着弥子的手顺利的解开了数个事件。由于涅罗凭着对于“谜”的敏锐直觉使弥子成为了著名的大侦探，两个人于是成立了一间侦探事务所，共同寻找极致的“谜”。 魔人探侦脳噛ネウロ是由日本漫画家松井优征在周刊少年JUMP（集英社）2005年12号 - 2009年21号连载的漫画作品。是一部类似推理的漫画作品，作者在单行本前言中提到“这只是披着侦探外衣的普通娱乐漫画”。讲述魔人奈罗与人类弥子在人间成立侦探事务所，共同寻找极致的“谜”的故事。本作是松井优征的第一部连载作品，同时有同名改编的动画和游戏。
